These holy martyrs lived in the reign of Emperor Diocletian in the city of Perga in Pamphylia, at the time when Pamphylia was ruled by the igimon Flavian, and all descended from Christian ancestors.

So they left their daily pursuits and went by night to the temple of Artemis [Artemis or Diana, daughter of Zeus and Latona, worshipped by the Greeks as a virgin goddess, protector of virgins and women, and also as the goddess of the moon.
